Reflection
Experience
Through this subject, I found it difficult to create and design letters. Letters prevail everywhere, and so we are familiar with this, but the creating process is more complicated than I had expected. The most difficult assignments for me were task 1 and 3. Both tasks involve creating impressions for the words and letters. Thinking of impression and design using word association was helpful, but visualizing made me spend a lot of time. However, when I completed these tasks, I felt a sense of achievement. the knowledge about typography is useful for designing, so I'll make the most of it.
Observation
I got used to tools like AI relatively quickly, but combining them with the knowledge about typography to create text was quite challenging and required many revisions. It was difficult to pay attention to the details while maintaining originality. However, I think it was good that I was able to challenge myself with various styles and designs without sticking to my own preferences.
Findings
I learned the basic knowledge and the process for creating letters and designing layouts mainly over 14 weeks. The basic decides the quality of letters and affects readability a lot. I'll have typography 2 in the future, so I will remember these and try to design things with typography knowledge until the upcoming semester.
