Experience

Overall, I really enjoyed this class because it included many hands-on assignments. One of the most memorable experiences was when we used a tripod and lights to shoot a scene. It felt like a simulation of how filming is done in the actual film industry. I took on the role of the camera operator, and it was surprising to realize how physically demanding it actually is.

As for the editing, I found VFX in After Effects a bit difficult, but I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed audio editing. I’ve always liked listening to music and watching films, I think that part of me came through during the project.

Observation
I noticed that selecting and experimenting with sound effects and background music was one of the most enjoyable parts for me. Just changing the audio in a scene could drastically shift its tone and meaning, which I found really fascinating. I spent a lot of time trying different sounds and thinking about how they matched the mood or action.

Finding
Through this experience, I realized that I’m particularly drawn to the sound aspect of visual production. While I initially thought I would be more focused on visuals or camera work, it turns out that sound editing allows me to express creativity in a way that feels natural and fun to me. This insight helped me recognize that my interest in music and film can actually be a strength in production work. I’d like to continue exploring audio in future projects, especially how it can influence emotion and storytelling.
