Final project

  • Pose

There are two ways to create posing: gizmo and transpose. At first, I challenged Gizmo, but my computer kept crashing, so I used the Transpose tool to slightly tilt the head, giving it a charming and intentional look. Rather than aiming for natural movement, I focused on a stylized pose where the elbows and knees are more defined than the default T-pose. From there, I refined the sculpt to bring it closer to the final polished version.

  • Concept art
I set the character in a dark forest to create a creepy contrast with its cuteness to , match the backstory. However, after receiving feedback about the poor lighting and composition, I switched to a much brighter color palette. I also adjusted the composition to a clear front-facing view and redesigned the background to look like something out of a trading card game.

Reflection

At the beginning, I struggled immensely to get used to the software's unique interface and workflow. The weekly progress checks were particularly stressful for me, as I constantly felt the pressure to show meaningful improvement each time. However, since I was working on this alongside my game art studies, I dedicated a significant amount of time to practicing and refining my skills.

As I spent more hours sculpting, I started to notice a real change. Tasks that used to be difficult became more intuitive, and I began to truly enjoy the process.

I still don't feel confident in my understanding of anatomy. I realized that a solid grasp of human structure is essential for high-quality character art. Moving forward, I plan to use the materials I received to deepen my knowledge of anatomy and apply it to my future sculptures.
